How to Get Your Medical Marijuana Card

Schedule Your Evaluation

– Call or book online to set up your appointment. New patients must be seen in-person at our office in Downtown Tampa, FL.  Renewals can be completed via a convenient telehealth appointment!

Meet with Dr. Springs

– During your consultation, Dr. Springs will take the time to understand your medical history and what you’re experiencing, answer your questions, and guide you through whether medical cannabis is a good fit for your care—most patients who come to us for qualifying conditions are able to move forward the same day.

Receive Your Certification

– If approved, Dr. Springs enters your certification into the state registry. Patients with an active Florida ID or Driver's License receive same-day approval and can shop at any licensed dispensary in Florida.

Get Your State Card

– Once certified, you complete the state application and receive your official medical marijuana card, allowing you to purchase from licensed dispensaries.

What to Bring to Your Appointment

• Valid government-issued photo ID
• Medical records documenting your qualifying condition (if available)
• List of current medications
• Proof of residency (If you are a seasonal resident, please bring a copy of your mortgage or lease, and a utility bill from the last two months in your name.  Other documents may be substituted, please contact us at 813-485-5954 for more information.)

New Patient vs. Renewal

New Patients

– A comprehensive in-office evaluation to determine eligibility, review qualifying conditions, and establish a treatment plan

Renewals

– A follow-up visit to continue your certification one every 7 months. Your card must also be renewed before expiration once per year with the state to maintain uninterrupted access.

Transfers

– If you were certified by another physician, Dr. Springs can take over your care and enter a new certification for you.  In Florida, you can change your doctor at any time without having to contact your previous doctor's office.  We also offer a transfer special, please call us at 813-485-5954 for more information and to schedule!

In-Office and Telehealth Appointments

Doctor Springs offers in-person evaluations for new patients at our office and convenient telehealth appointments for renewing patients throughout Florida. Telehealth visits provide the same thorough evaluation from the comfort of your home.  New Patients must be seen in-person at our office in Tampa, FL.
